Last Update 2 mesi fa
Hi there! James from Dolcewe.com here. After helping thousands of customers install our custom curtain tracks over the past decade, I've refined this guide to address the most common questions about our Mira Traverse Rod Set.
- Track sections (39⅜" each)
- Track connectors
- Glider rollers
- Wall/ceiling mount brackets
- Mounting screws
- End caps
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Level
- Power drill
- Hacksaw (for cutting track)
- Phillips screwdriver
- Safety glasses
Measure Total Length Needed
- Measure your window width
- Add 12" extra (6" per side) for curtain stacking
- This is your total track length
Calculate Track Sections
- Each track piece is 39⅜" long
- Example: For 80" window + 12" extra = 92" total length
- You'll need 3 track sections (39⅜" × 3 = 118⅛")
- Final section will need cutting (118⅛" - 92" = 26⅛" to remove)
Pro tip: Draw a diagram showing your window, track sections, and where cuts will be made
- Lay out all track pieces on floor in sequence
- Insert connector halfway into first track section
- Push firmly until you hear/feel it click
- Align second track section with connector
- Push sections together until flush
- Repeat for additional sections
For Final Section:
- Measure from end of last connected section to your desired total length
- Mark cutting point on final track piece
- Cut with hacksaw
- Place track on stable surface
- Cut slowly with fine-tooth blade
- Wear safety glasses!
- File any rough edges smooth
- Connect final piece using steps above
Warning: Cut edges can be sharp! Handle carefully and file smooth.
Height Positioning:
- Measure 4-6 inches above your window frame
- Mark this height with a pencil
- Use level to draw a straight horizontal line
Width Positioning:
- Mark 3-6 inches beyond each side of window frame
- This extra space allows curtains to fully clear window when open
Middle Bracket Placement:
- For tracks up to 70": Place one bracket in center
- For tracks 70-120": Place brackets every 30-36"
- For heavy curtains: Place brackets every 24"
Step-by-Step Wall Mounting:
- Hold bracket against wall at marked position
- Mark screw holes with pencil
- Pre-drill holes (use stud finder if possible)
- If no studs available, insert wall anchors
- Secure bracket with screws
- Check with level before final tightening
- Repeat for all brackets
Distance from Wall:
- Measure 4-6 inches from wall
- Mark this distance on ceiling
- Use level to ensure parallel alignment with wall
Track Positioning:
- For standard windows: Position track 4-6" from wall
- For floor-to-ceiling curtains: Position track 4-6" from wall
- For room dividers: Position anywhere on ceiling
Step-by-Step Ceiling Mounting:
- Mark bracket positions along ceiling line
- Space brackets following same guidelines as wall mount
- Pre-drill holes (locate ceiling joists if possible)
- Insert ceiling anchors if needed
- Secure brackets with screws
- Verify all brackets are aligned before final tightening
Before mounting track to brackets:
- Slide glider rollers onto track
- Space evenly every 4-6"
- For double tracks, load both tracks
- Insert end caps (have these ready)
Important: Once track is mounted, you cannot add more gliders!
- Lift assembled track to bracket level
- Position track into brackets
- For ceiling mount: Push up until it clicks
- For wall mount: Set into bracket cradle
- Secure track with bracket locking mechanism
- Snap end caps onto track ends
Test movement by sliding gliders back and forth - should move smoothly
